These sessions will last approximately 40 mins and will cover the following topics: 
 
Rapid Improvement Event - Tayside Substance Misuse Service
 
The Dundee Drug Service, in conjunction with other stakeholders underwent a Rapid Improvement Event in November 2009.  Using improvement methodology, the RIE Core Team came up with a new Clinical Plan which has begun to transform the service into a quality focussed service with reduction in waits and patients seen bu the right person in appropriate parts of the service.   Other improvements include consistency in delivery of psychological interventions and improvement in communication and documentation.
 
What does GIRFEC mean to you?
 
Getting it right for every child (GIRFEC) is our overarching approach to improving outcomes for all children and young people. This is based on research and practice evidence and has been developed jointly with COSLA, NHS, the police, social work, education and the third sector. GIRFEC is a key thread running through all policies affecting children and young people, including the Early Years Framework, Equally Well and Achieving our Potential.
 
The Future of Volunteering in NHSScotland
 
This session will provide delegates with an overview of the Refreshed Strategy for Volunteering in NHSScotland, which VDS is currently delivering on behalf of the Scottish Government Health Directorates, in partnership with NHSScotland. Delegates will also hear about the progress made to date in terms of strategy delivery and there will be an opportunity to discuss the future of volunteering in NHSScotland.
 
Equally Well - Turning Health Inequalities Policy into Practice
 
This session will provide delegates with an overview of the recent review of Equally Well conducted by the Ministerial Task Force on Health Inequalities.  Delegates will also hear from representatives of the Equally Well test sites and will have the opportunity to discuss and share other examples of effective local and national practice that contributes to tackling health inequalities. The session will also highlight links with the new NHS Quality Strategy, in particular through the focus on person-centredness and equity.
